Meaghan Rock Design

Meaghan and her husband Patrick fell for each other over their shared love of traveling, and it was during their early trips together that Meaghan became really interested in design. Their first home together was a humble studio apartment in Madrid, where they lived while teaching English for a year. One of their favorite ways to spend a Sunday in Madrid was at El Rastro flea market. While they mostly dreamt of taking home the treasures they found, they often couldn’t help bringing home a little something to make their home feel special. One of Meaghan’s favorite ways to decorate on a budget back then was (and still is today!) bringing in fresh blooms and live plants. Meaghan and Patrick often reminisce about the one interior facing window in their studio apartment that let in just enough light to keep a few plants alive, including a small cactus they decorated for Christmas that year.

Thirteen years and four houses later, Meaghan now lives with her husband and two children in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She has poured so much love and intention into renovating and styling each home she has owned (a 1920s craftsman in Upstate NY, a 1920s colonial in Ferndale, MI, and a 1920s English Cottage in Birmingham, MI) and, when it came time to sell made sizeable profits as well. Now in her (hopefully!) forever home — a 1929 Cape Cod, which will keep her busy for years to come — Meaghan has recently started taking on clients.

Meaghan’s personal design style is earthy in color palate and texture, influenced by what makes her feel good in nature. She loves furniture and decor that look and feel classic and timeless, light filled spaces, and collecting special pieces over time. As an interior designer and stylist, she forms a collaborative relationship with her clients, creating personal spaces that are unique to each home and lifestyle.
